Scooter rider hit, killed by car

A TEENAGE boy died today after he was hit by a car while riding his push scooter across a road on the New South Wales south coast.

The 13-year-old boy was crossing a major intersection in the town of Batehaven about 9am yesterday when he was struck by a car, a NSW police spokesman said.

He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.

The boy died at 12.25am today surrounded by his family, the spokesman said.

A report of the accident would be prepared for the coroner.

i almost got hit yesterday riding home...some dumbass essay got pissed cause his bitch like wouldnt eat him out probably and he like spead down the street and around a corner and i was walking across the street and had to like jump onto the sidewalk.......damn homies messing with my neighborhood

yea this one time I was going down a sidewalk down a hill in town and my headset was still loose from changing my fork and I didnt feel like tightening it yet..and the wheel turned and I fell straight down and a car was coming up the hill and my head was hanging off the side of the sidewalk and I was about two ft. from my head being taken off if I didnt jump back fast enough..it was crazy, but its my own damn fault for riding down a hill with a non tightened fork haha..

i smacked into a moving car. i jumped a five foot gap, and smacked into a acura going bout 20, and i was going 10ish. 1900$$ worth of damage. it sucks, it was a blind area too. before i hit, i threw my scooter so i would get it run over. and i smacked the car with my body. it's nuts, any earlier, and i would have been the kid in the article...

When i was 14 I laserated my spleen and lost half my blood internaly. I didint go to the hospital for 6 hours after the fall. The doctors said that i could have died. Very very lucky kid they said i was. Thats as close as i came to almost dieing while riding. Road 2 weeks after the fall. but it sucks to hear that a kid died on a scoot. People die on skateboards all the time by cars. not to mention bikers. Its just a part of nature i guess..

poor kid same thing happend to me except i didnt die and the car wasnt moving.

Seriously, thats one of the most stupid posts i've ever seen in whole my life.

I dont think that this accident is special in any way, tha fact that the kid was riding a scooter didnt change anything, he might've been just a pedestrian and ppl get hit by cars every day.
