Just got an e-mail from Jona Humbel.

His side of the story:

What 16 year old says "heed?"

I said this.

Intelligent 16 year old's, that study hard so that I drive up to the local shop in my expensive car and my nice clothes, and say hi to you as you serve me over the counter. That's why I have an extensive vocabulary. But there are many 16 year olds that talk better than I do. It's a way to make a lasting impression on the INTELLIGENT people. Not dumb fucks like yourself. And why would I care if I piss you off? If I were to argue with someone it would have to at least be someone intelligent.

He says this. (all throught pms btw)
He just called me a dumb ----- im going to fail in life, and unintelligent. Then i make a thread about it cuz i dont really know how to contact admins on sr since most of them are never on.
Then he banned me for 6 months, saying im pathetic or something for making it public.

Can we get your side of it? As of right now that seems pretty out of line.

Right so first him and Michael Chavez posted negative comments about me in the thread entitled "Twankle!!", saying that I was a bad mod etc.

So then I PM'd them both, saying "Hey look, I had a go at you in the thread because it was quite a shocking post for me to see, and obviously I took it too heart a lot. Also while I get angry with you, I do take heed of what you say so that I can improve myself and make myself a better person online."

Now Michael was no trouble, he replied apologising, and I replied apologising for how "FML" I act and that I would do my best to be better. So that was fine.

Then I got a reply from Jona, saying that I am always trying to be better than everyone else, and that I act older than my age and I talk like I am on 4chan of FML.com.

So we then basically had an argument about how I act on forums and how I talk like a 30 year old. (Supposedly) And now obviously, he was quite offensive to me and so I would most likely get frustrated and wound up.

Another thing he picked up on was my "Use of extensive vocabulary" and how this made me seem older than I was. So I was using the old excuse of how I am a highly educated person, and I like to put a good lasting impression on other fellow members by acting mature. And I also said generically that he would be serving me over the counter in a shop when I roll up in a nice car after doing well for myself in life. (This is the typical reply I give when someone comments on my maturity and vocabulary.)

Now I admit that at this point it had got out of hand and I had taken it WAY TOO FAR. And I do regret some of the stuff I said, because it showed a level of immaturity within me. But I was very frustrated and just wanted to let out a steam of rage.

I haven't bothered apologising to Jona because the last time I did (It was for the exact same thing - him commenting on how I act) he just replied in the same way he did here. And now we are in the same situation as we were about a month ago.

But yes I admit it was very childish/immature of me, and I did take what he said to great offence.

EDIT: I also gave a different ban reason as to what he has put here. I put "Consistently abuses and argues with me, and then made an argument public. Grow up and come back in six months."

But I do not believe that he made a thread to "Contact" you guys. I think he just wants to make a genuine "Kieran hate" thread, as I'm sure others do aswell.

I realized you took what he said offensively, but you need to realize that you're a moderator. "Steam of rage" just simply cannot happen. If I were you, I would talk things over via PM.

I'm going to unban him for now and let him know that disrespect towards you or any members will not be tolerated, so if you feel it is happening again you are still a mod, you can still ban.

Lastly, when you applied to be a moderator, there was an application. Before the application there were the rules clearly listed with the following:

Strike 1: Loss of privileges for 1 week.
Strike 2: Loss of privileges for 1 month.
Strike 3: You are out. Permanent ban.

What happened to these? You may use your own discretion and ban for shorter periods of time if you would like. Example: Strike 2 could be minor, so you could ban for 2 weeks as opposed to 1 month.


Essentially, this will be a warning to you specifically. But same goes for all moderators. We put you in this position because we expect you to be professional at all times when dealing with kids on SR.

There is a grown-up section to the forums now. I will post drunk/high whatever in there on occasion. My posts aren't usually too professional during those times. But through PM/announcement/anywhere else in the forums, you're expected to set an example for everyone else. Verbally putting down another member is no dice (this time it was through PM), and makes it so you yourself is actually breaking rule 1.

Ok. I fully respect what you have to say, as it is all true. I was outrageous. And I will apologise to Jona. I will make sure not to let my anger fill my head when resolving a situation again.

I saw everything that happened in the threads. And I do have to admit, Jona and Michael both started bashing Kieran before he was even posting in that thread. Than Jona made the thread about Kieran. I PM'd him and told him to contact an admin instead of making it public and causing more drama.

Kieran, its understandable that you got upset, but you HAVE to watch what you say. Im sure youve noticed that most of the kids on here thrive on drama (same as in the world in general), so dont give them anything to feed off of.

These people think mods just sit and troll all day and think its all easy. Ill be honest, I used to think that at one point, but now I obviously know its not true.

I feel like this is just part of human instict, rebel against anything representing "authority". It reminds me of all the f*ck the police stuff you always hear.

I know Matt, and I do when I am on. I love SR. Just there are certain kids who really erk me.

1.) hes acts to old for how old he actually is
2.) hes a douuche imo
and 3.) he is just an overall bad mod

And as for Jon, he makes too many rude and ignorant comments. He calls people names. Do you think someone who's gonna call everyone names constantly could handle being a moderator? Do you want mods that go around calling everyone idiots, assholes, and douchebags? I know I don't. We make our choices wisely, as a democracy. We take a vote on who would be the best and we take pride in our choices, too. I won't speak for the rest of the mods, but I know once the few members that are butthurt over him becoming a moderator decide to grow up Kieran will make out to be a great mod.

It was a pointless argument.
I wasn't exactly happy about what you were saying but i'm guessing you were probably feeling the same way.
