kubar dirt scooter forks

i'm helping my friend put together his new dirt scooter, and it has kubar forks, and its being run with scs, so we need to install a starnut, and its got quite a thick fork tubing, so the 1 1/8 starnut didn't go in AT ALL, so we've bought a 1 inch starnut, and its still being really difficult to get in, so has anyone got any easy ways to get star nuts in, or had the same problem and knows how to solve it?

use a press or a socket head and hammer.

No a press like they have in a car garage its what I always used I just went to a car garage and asked to borrow their press quick

Ohh ermm just keep on hammering or goto a halfords tomorrow sure they have the tools.
