i wrote this letter to the councillor in hopes of getting a realley close sk8 park. it sounds gay but it may work
Dear Councilor Sutton,
My name is Jonathon Scanlan, I am 12 years old and a VERY keen scooter/bicycle rider. I am contacting you in regard of building a skateboarding facility at the Colmslie Reserve, where a community pool is scheduled to be built. I have multiple friends that ride scooters, skateboards, bicycles and rollerblades and we have to ride in the streets and near our local ferry wharves as we do not have a skateboarding facility within walking or bikeriding distance. The closest skateboarding facilities are at Cooparoo and at Cannon Hill and they are at least a 10 minute drive away from my house in east brisbane. Every time that I want to go to a skateboarding facility, my mother and father have to drive me there and supervise my friends and I. My parents have no intentions of leaving us by ourselves to skate there because there is a population of shady/ aggressive looking characters that hang around there.
What I am proposing is that the local council build a skateboarding facility that is a model of the Hibiscus Sports Complex at Mount Gravatt. It incorporates a pool, skateboarding facility, basket ball courts and a gym. A small fee is required on entry to the skateboarding facility which is through the front desk, giving the receptionist a chance to look at the person and decide if they would look as they might be threatening or unsafe to the younger children. There is an array of security cameras surrounding the skate facility that the security guards can check on. I have made multiple friends there and find it an enjoyable experience every time I go. There is also a picnic shelter and drinking fountain near it and some plastic chairs, provided by the PCYC. I am not suggesting that we incorporate a gym or basketball courts, but my friends and I think it would be a wonderful idea to have a skate park that is secure enough to leave us there alone and close enough to be able to comfortably walk there.
I hope you take this into account.
Yours Sincerely
Jonathon
