Hi,
For the people who don't know me, i'm Johann. Addict co-owner, manager and team rider.
I first just wanted to thank Billy because he helped us alot explaining what i couldn't explain with my poor english haha.
Then yeah I wanted to give you guys some information :
First of all Addict deck is very different to all the others. The feeling is extremely smooth which helps landing huge impacts. The deck construction absorb the impacts/forces while landing or even during manuals.
I wanted to give you an insight on how hard we've been testing the parts.
We have be touring with the whole crew since April 2011 (as soon as we had those last prototype version).
All those trips were filming trips, not demos or competition. And for those who rode with us, you know how we ride and how we can mistreat our scoot haha.
Maxime Legrand aka LE BARON cracked his bar after 9 month of intense riding. It's actually the only cracked bar since april, we all changed bar after 6 month because we wanted to enjoy a new setup.
About the deck, well. If you want to fully understand scootering, you have to accept that beginners break parts faster than pro riders (it's different than the other sports) and we tell you that after years of experience.
The first deck we had in April 2011 took 6 month to crack for all of us. (JDs and Matts lasted about 5month and half)
Then we gave a deck to a friend of us who started scooter in january 2011, so he's a beginner. He rides street (grinds, manual, gaps and stuff) and his name his Marvin.
He's riding the same deck since April. So now it's about 8months he is riding the same deck. He rides all day haha and he shreds. His deck had a crack some month ago. BUT we asked him to keep riding it because of the construction of the deck. You can keep ride the deck month and weeks after the first crack appears. (if you don't do fly out.)
So now about the Addict Forks. We mostly all ride the SWORD fork (which is not the light version), but we decided to give Maxime Legrand a lighter version of the fork (DAGGER fork) because he litteraly shreds the asphalt the most and he cracked it after 5 months.
About the SWORD, we've all been riding the same fork since april 2011.
So yeah now you have more information.
Didn't want to lie to you guys, we just hope that the production will be with the same quality as the last prototype version we had. But Kevin Demay (Addict co-owner too) was at the factory to handle and control the production in person. So it should be ok.
here ya gooooo !
hope it was usefull for you guys
