Right tho? I need to like grind down the threads that are above the headset spacer nut, so the bars just slide on. These forks are a little thicker than most.

thats not right? if they were thicker, the headset nut would never have slipped on in the first place. so your bar shouldnt have trouble if the nut isnt. it must be something to do with bars if that is happening

Well he's just clamped hard steel onto soft aluminium, most the thread is probably gone already, so the headset nut wont be able to slide of.

No the nut didnt slip on, it was pretty hard to get on. I mean, since the forktube is solid i cant use a compression system, so leave some thread for the headset nut.. and make it threadless where the bars go.

I taped the part at the top and painted them black, then took off the tape and clearcoated. It's so you can see the welds.
