oh, i get it now haha. took me a second. You would still have to re-adjust things every once in a while because your bars would gradually slip up your fork. If you got a really heavy duty spring though i dont think it would matter, because it would still press hard enough on the headset even if was spread out over a longer distance as the bars move up.

it wont work because its only pushing on the top for it to be commpressed the forks need to be pulled up so the bottom stays tight with this compression it only keeps the top of the heatset tight so there will still be some play in the headset

why do u gotta put it down....you have never tryed it..maybe he didnt explain what he is trying to say right...this might work..you never know so dont be a little cunt and put it down
 
but how would it stay in place?your bars would just push up

exactly what i was thinkin. ur gonna need a lot of force to tighten a clamp to keep it place.which will end up stripping the clamp. which will keep puttin u out more and more $ until the point where you just put out enough money to use scs or hic. nice idea though.

thats putting pressure on ur bars upwards
the second you pull up with enough force ur bars ar gonna come right off
