I no i may be retarded but i really dont want to buy a threadless headset i beliveve i read somewhere that u can change a stock threaded headset into a threadless one

if so
can u tell me how

Okay, listen here buddy.

Now, the way to make it threadless is to take off the 2 nuts on your forktube. Get a crown race and put it upside down on the top bearings/headset cup on your headtube. Then go to a bike shop and get a threadless headset "wedge". They will give it to you for free, I've done it a million times. Then put the wedge on top of the upside down crown race and put your bars over your threadless fork. Tighten it down with your compression bolt. Stock headsets are amazing if you do this. Seriously.
