Losing my love for riding.

A few months ago I would wake up, ride, come home, watch scooter videos, sleep, and then repeat.

Lately I have been having to force myself to ride, and even when I do it hasn't been making me as happy as it used too. Has anyone out there gone through this before? and if so how'd you pull yourself out of it? I really want riding to be what it used to be for me.

No I'm not sitting here asking "Should I quit?", I'm asking how to renew that love for riding.

First just go hug your scooter.
Secondly give her the biggest loveliest French kiss ever
Third disregard every thing I just said and just try and watch some sick videos and edits of people. Hope this helps.

Start filming or taking photos.
It'll give you a new perspective on riding, and you don't have to ride to enjoy doing them.
I've ridden scooters for near on 10 years now. I ride properly once every 2 or 3 months. I don't really feel the same about riding as I did 5 years ago, but I still try go out every week or two to take photos.
If you're still into it, try find a different way to stay involved, your love may just come back.

take a road trip or something, go ride a nice skatepark you've never been to or go to a nearby city with good spots you haven't been to. Also what Aaron was saying, trying filming or something

I went through this too. It helps if you find more people to ride with, new spots etc etc. I dunno it helped me

film, travel, explore, have fun.
like what Ethan said, sometimes riding doesn't involve riding.
surround yourself with people with similar interests, and you'll start to love it.
worked for me at least.

Don't ride for like a week or so

Whenever I ride after not doing so after a week it feels so nice, also if you try to be all flow and smooth when riding haha

Just try to focus on the precision and beauty you can have. The way your feet fit so perfectly on your deck, the way your dropout just locks in on that feeble. Ride not to conquer tricks or be better than people, but ride to express your inner self. Think about the way you feel deep inside, that warm glowing feeling of connectedness to the earth, the life on it, the systems that support and define it. Think about the art on it, all the beautiful people singing, dancing, painting, writing, drawing, shredding, cooking, sculpting their very essence into something that lasts far longer than their body ever will. Think about all the farms, all the food you eat all the shit that goes into you surviving. Think about the universe, the entire fucking universe, the big bang, to the formation of the earth, to the evolution of mammals. Think about the first word ever spoken, the first painting ever painted, the first experiment ever conducted. Think about your parent's first date, the love that sparked your existence; think about all these things and how they have all happened so exactly, so delicately, so perfectly to land you right where you are right now. You are humbled by the fact that all of these forces have all been so precariously placed into the right order, the entirety of the universe has lined up in a way that not only created out beautiful earth, but creauted then humans. The likelyhood of anything ever existing at all is soooo little, and the fact that the planet earth was created, and then humans, and then human kind's path lead to create you. You are such an improbable, beautiful creature capable of anything. You have also came to such a near impossible thing; riding a scooter. Think of what a privilege that is. That thing you can do, you can sing all of that beauty through. You can channel all the pain, beauty, happiness, anything that has ever and will ever be, into that scooter. You can put the entirety of the most improbable thing ever, the human race, into a single device that captures the essence of hard work, a craft perfected over years, and you can put everything you are into it. You can make it what you want, you can make it feel as good as possible, you can dance your inner most passion into a language of tricks and styles that has been cataloged and developed by many people before you, and that will always be evolving. YOU can be a part of that language, that culture, that essence, that expresses the entirety of humanity into an activity that seems to the rest of the world, useless. You need to appreciate how amazing it is anything exists, and how amazing it is then that you exist, and then that you scooter. You can fully express yourself, and its a great fucking workout. And always practice those heelwhips, I swear they never stop feeling better.

I lost my passion during winter and began to ride bmx. Rode it for like one month and then my front hub broke. It was unrideable untill I would buy a new hub. Well, I was bored and had no money so I decided to try some flat with my scooter. After few hours I noticed it felt really awesome after riding a bike. Then I decided to buy a new setup and bam! I was hooked again, riding 5 hours per day.

Id say try some other sport like skating. It has helped me and my friends too. Also new setup, new spots and new people could refresh your passion.

New music is always good for riding, with the same old music you feel like it's becoming a routine

Make a list of tricks/lines you wanna do at certain spots, and take time to film a part you're really satisfied with. That's what get's me stoked to go ride. Either filming the trick you've been thinking about forever, or filming a homie and making the clip look perfect. Hard work and dedication will help you make something you'll be proud of for a long time.
