Has anyone ever being in a phase of when you just dont see the point in putting your body on the line just to learn a new trick? Im kinda stuck in a phase like this with my riding. Last year i used to just be all about balls out trying to learn any trick someone told me to do. But now things just seemed to have changed and its just like im stuck in a down rut with my trick level, i just cant get motivated to go for the really big shit anymore. Maybe its to do with riding alone all this time? Maybe im just being a sissy and needs to drink more red bull? Im just interested to see if anyone has had this sort of thing happen to them.

well yeh it sure has happened to me when me friends sorta just gave up riding and shit but i relised i dont need scooter riders all the time to ride with i just need friends so yeh pretty much i was thinking about giving up but na fuk that wat else would i do sit on my arse at home and watch movies na that not me never will be.

I think that same thing might be happening to me. I also don't really have anyone to ride with but another thing is that Im bored with the shitty parks and street spots I have here. Maybe I need to move myself around with trains or something (I can't drive yet), but still it's hard to motivate yourself for a train trip alone (it is generally hard to move your ass away from the computer these days, lol). I hope to go on one at the end of vacation to visit some riders in other cities though.

umm yeah coedie i think u missed the point. yeah jake i no wat u mean, when im at home just about to go ride i think about a trick i wanna try and im like yeah ill od it for sure and when it comes to try it i puss out i dunno y im pretty sure its bcoz i dont drink much red bull maybe i should start?

haha red bull doesnt reallly motivate me to try new tricks..it just keeps me from passing out half way through a session. i havent really been in a rut quite like the one your talking about, but once levon started getting really good i felt like i wasnt doing that great but couldnt really think of anything to learn..so i felt like i had stopped progressing for a bit. it was kind of weird but now i just watch levon land stuff left and right and use that as motivation to land my shit too

See.. with the riders out there today. Like Radtke, Coedie, Macaluso, Bk and other riders that are CONSTANTLY pushing the limit of tricks. Its leaves other riders either wanting more, or feeling like theyre not good enough. Therefore they need to go out and put there body on the line wrecking themselves trying to land the trick they jes saw in a video that was landed so effortlessly. But in all reality you dont need to go out and beat your own ass trying to land a new trick...Go out to the park, or street, or flat or whatever you ride. And Just Ride the way you normally ride...I never used to ride with a goal...my goal was completed everytime i grabbed my scooter before i head out the door, the second both feet were on my scooter, I was there. I was riding. From there its all about feeling it, if you feel like your having an On Day, then try some new tricks...but if you go out everyday and say.."I need to land something new" and dont land it, or hurt yourself trying and trying and trying...Riding is gonna stop being fun fast...Jes go out, and Ride. Once your riding, then decide if today is a day to be trying some new tricks, and going at it a lil harder. Or if today is a day to Jes ride and have a nice chill sesh.

i never really think about it that is how i ride. whenever i ride i go out and just ride, do tricks ive done a million times before, and something comes to me and ill try it, sometimes it works other times it doesnt. i HATE trying a trick over and over for hours so i rarely do. i try for a few minutes and if i dont come close i save it for some other time. maybe thats why im consistant, because i dont go out to try a new trick, i go out to just ride and do all my tricks

I do love the feeling of picking up my scooter and just riding it. But i also love learning new tricks and pushing my limits to be the best i can be. And at the level im at now i just seem to be stuck and i know i can go further with my skills and stuff. But im just having a whole heap of trouble getting the motivation to keep pushing myself for bigger and better things.

i never really try new tricks, not worth it for me. why get hurt trying some huge trick that will get me nowhere when i can just ride around doing 180s and having fun?

yea i know what you mean Jake. Sometimes i forget that riding is about having fun. It's not all about going out and learning tricks, and when I'm in that phase i seem tolose motivation quicker.
