I just use some bearing grease that I bought from auto zone. Everyone knows how much I've bitched about my addict headset but i regreased it two days ago and it spins amazingly.

There is no set time, just do it regularly.

Don't use oil that you would use in 608 bearings because it's to thin and it will just run straight off. You're best off to use some sort of grease that is thin but also rated to some sort of heavy duty standard. You can get like a smallish bucket of grease for $20 from a hardware or auto store.

Yeah When I first greased it about 2 weeks ago it felt better but still not up to par and i regreased it about 2 days ago and it spins for days

what i did was fill a dixie cup with come cooking oil and let my bearings sit in there for about 30 minutes. then took them out and rubbed some vasalene through the open cracks.. after that its gonna sound a bit loud when you spin your bars but after a couple of days it gets silent. SPINS LIKE BUTTER THOUGH.

i use a heavy grease for everything including wheel bearings, it lasts longer and stays smoother for longer as oils/lubricants/thin grease just runs out in a day

It's like Vaseline texture.
I usually just take the bearing and chuck it in there (literally throw it with force) and I get it covered with grease. And I just kind of roll it around in my hand and rub the grease in all the cracks while wearing latex gloves

make sure you clean the bearings first!!!

like get a paper towel and rub all the old grease almost completely off of it
