--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP #1: Things you'll need.

A few old useless threadless bmx forks with top-bolts.
a bit longer bolts
lots of spacers
some nuts
file, metal saw and wrenches
and a little time.

Top-bolts should be flat like shown, because umbonated top-bolts have no support against the wall of the fork and dropouts, so they may start to bend up when grinding.

I got my GT forks off my friends, $6 a piece, lucky. Forks came with the top bolt.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP #2: Fitting top-bolts in front and back.

It isn't much of a problem, top-bolt fits on it nicely on forks and old-a dropouts.
But in somecases (to be continued)...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But in case you have an old B, new A or a pro model, then this particular top-bolt won't fit on the back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP #3: Making a top-bolt that fits on old B, new A and pro-model dropouts.

If you have an old B, new-A and/or a pro-model and you want to have a rear peg, then you should use files and/or machines to file down one side of the top-bolt so it could fit in the back.

And it fits, woo yay...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP #4: Making pegs.

Now you'll need to saw down a piece of forktube for your peg.
Cut them as long as you want, but if you want to make some longer pegs, then remind that the front peg should be as long as possible, at the same time you could barspin/whip it too in case you don't wan't to quit doing tailwhips, barspins and briflips (yes, briflips actually have a barspin in it for real, it's not an x-up).

After sawing a piece, screw your peg on to the top bolt and it'll stay there... well i put them on by hand and they stay there pretty well, haven't rotated out. But if you like, then use some big pincers to put them on stronger.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RESULT: You'll have nice strong durable pegs.

If you want them to take off for a second (idk, flat tripwhips?), then you can take them off pretty easy, if they aren't put on with big pincers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason i made this modification is that in the past winter i managed to bend the ghetto "bearings-on-bolt" peg system on my scooter, so i came up with an idea which shoud be much stronger.

PS! I'm not currently in mood of making a videotutorial (a slideshow) for "SR vision scoot pible" about this mod (haha, i even don't know how to add subtitles in Vegas 6), so if anyone has some spare time, nothing to do and in a mood of editing a video, then be my guess: original pictures are here.

Idk, last night it just bumped it to my head, when i was probably looking at a long bolt, missing bearings and my bmx fork w/ topbolt (which is meant to be my project material for my custom fork) - by that time i was really mending my tubes and headset.

Yeah, But In The Pics, There are only Pegs at one side, Do you just do The Same for The Other Side to add pegs to the unpegged sides, or what?

that is an amazing mod, i love you madis. id love to use them, except i have no spare bike forks laying around, and becuase i do flat triples and low double fingerwhips a lot, and idk if i could do them with those bolts on, even without the peg

Sick stuff, that's a really good idea. But remember kids, this mod will only work with older, 1" threaded forks, not newer, threadless forks. But I doubt you'd be using a new fork to do this. Great idea, very original.

Mh? I didn't understand you.
Everyone rides what they like, either like 1-4 pegs on the sides where he/she likes.
So, for example, if you want to do 4 pegs, then get 4 forks with top-bolts.

I haven't used socked mod, because i've been stupid for not understanding how would that look like and what does it need.

Well the pegs (forktubes) are chromoly 4130, top-bolts are steel.
It's lighter than 6-8 bearings on a bolt that's for sure.

I used to have a peg a while ago, I just used a regular peg.
*picture*

Yeh, they either have 10mm or 14mm whole in the middle for the bolt. Massive.

Sockets (for a wrench) dude.. same thing with ALOT less work.

I don't have any sockets that fit and/or stay there tight.
And i wouldn't wan't to mess up some sockets what i would like to use later.
