making wheels last longer or just a waste of time?

hey i was wondering i was watching mtv some old series and ryan sheckler said if u put skate wheels in the freezerits will last longer ....just a thought has anyone tried puting scooter wheels in the freezer to make them harder or last longer?????

and if people have dun it to some wheels will it work with blank yaks?

they get harder, and don't break as easy. i always hotglue and send them directly to the freezer for a few weeks. right now there's 5 in my freezer, and besides the worn down part, they've held up good
try breaking in the blank yaks by like hill bombing and stuff, and when they get a little worn down, stick 'em in the freezer for a few weeks

I didn't notice it in 2 days, but I only did it for two. Be sure to let them melt before you ride them.

most likely they will. just hot glue them, stick em in the freezer for two weeks, then take one out, run it as a front wheel for 2 or more weeks, then move it to the back (or just wait till your bak wheel brakes to move it to the back) and put another one from the freezer on the front.
if they start to brake a little, stick them in the freezer and use other ones

hot glue works for every wheel except for metal cores, unless you really want to glue those too lol

not really, hot glue is easier imo. I like gluecores since the glue takes the shock rather than the spokes XD.

just set the wheel down on wax paper, or the brown paper that griptape comes on, waxy side up, like sticker paper
and take a hot glue gun (or the cold glue guns, either way)
and let it heat up
and apply a little amount of hot glue to each gap between the spoke.
when that goes down, put more glue in
repeat the above step until the glue will not go in any more and is even with the top
let it cool, and after like 10 minutes, pop it off the wax paper

for best, cleanest results, use the griptape sheet back thing
and put a piece of it on the top and bottom to get it flat

or just use silicone from a hard ware shop and put it in the core and straighten the sides up with something flat thats wat i did =)
