Jesus Pete, your right. Here everyone that starts to ride with us progresses like crazy. I think its because Me and Jeff didnt have anyone to teach us the small things like wrist movement and foor placement and stuff. Now we are stoping all the bad habits we have in the new riders, like heel drags and stuff.

I have no one else to ride with thats better than me because no one does in my area but i always find you get younger kids asking you to teach them stuff. I get my inspiration from watchin videos and watching the bmxers.

Remember the annoying kids that come up to you and ask you how to tailwhip are the future of the sport so help them or you will burn in hell

sometimes those are the same kids who buy a scooter, learn how to do a sketchy ass tailwhip, and then put their scooter in the attic to collect dust...Not everybody is as committed as the people on SR here...

I basically always knew it was like this. See, the Vets of this sport...myself included, and a lot of others on here, used to bounce around from Forum to Forum back in 01, sharing new tricks with eachother...But we had to teach ourselves..and learn ourselves. Now a days, there are so many new riders that come and came to the new and old SR. And they take it for granted...that there is a trick section, where they can ask questions, about how to do tricks. And how we can easily answer them. Therefore Pete, there is truth to your theory, It took all the Vets longer to learn our tricks...cause we had no one to go to, to teach us. We had to learn ourselves...I myself taught myself double whips on flat..no kickers or ledges...and same for fingerwhips...i wish i had someone to help me with them back then. And new riders progress extremely fast because they can watch these new videos, and ask questions, and therefore they know what to do. Im just trying to point out how a lot of you new riders to the scene, need to sit and think about how you guys got it made...to be able to just come on to a site like this, or talk to these "Pros" on AIM and be able to get tips and watch videos....hmm..ok done.

I was lucky enough to be in the middle. I came right in the middle of old SR, I was there for almost a year I think then it went down, so I did get the chance to ask about tricks. Even now I think sometimes I should ask about something but I never do. But all these new guys riding with me and jeff, they learn so fast. I remember it took me and jeff 6 months to whip. Mainly because 1. We didnt even know it was a sport. 2. We were having too much fun doing no-footers and x-ups over manholes. Even when we found SR as was on it for a while I couldnt whip. I used to watch RVM1 so much to try to learn. Then on day in the middle of winter there was this dry spot on the raod so we rode it all day. There was like a chip bag or something on the ground and we played POSER (scoot, ride, what ever you want to call the game) and somehow jeff whips it 1st try. I was amazed but I went for it and boom, 1st try too. Then it took me forever to double let alone flat. We progress so slow here......Thats my life story.

Some great riders on here have been riding like all of 2 years. !dodge Props.

yea for sure man.. im incredibly lucky that i have phil and coedie to ride with.. i find it amazing how they rode for 4 years by themselves, no one else, the amount of bagging out they wouldve gotten, but they stuck to it, even though it wasnt even a sport back than. I know for a fact that i wouldnt be able to ride all that time and stay committed, for that i praise them, and they deserve to be as good as they are, they didnt develop their skill overnight, but i think it has definitely paid off with the amount of skill and control they have over their scooter.

yea i need someone better to ride with because i can feel myself kind of reaching a plateau. i have definately started improving a lot quicker since i found scooter resource

duh I did NOT progress at all before Ive found SR and even after Ive found it I had a complex which was like "I wont even try a tailwhip cause there's no way Im gonna land it, theyre better than me, theyre from america etc etc". But it has shown me the total scootering basics and knowledge I wouldnt think of alone. Unfortunately there are not many people as weird as I am so they could start scootering but I believe Ill also have my own crew someday...

Word. There is absolutely nobody that I've seen who is better at scootering than me around where I live so I have been progressing really slow lately. I just learned dubwhips flat recently, after about 2 months of solid practice, and even then I'm not consistent at all with them. I think all you crazy fucks should come up to Canada lol.
