i like double kicks theyu give a destintive(spelt wrong) but i know where the hate come from its from miss use of them. like low tuning bass and electric guitars it makes the music sound harder than it actually is(used by most new age hardcore bands). but if u use double bass right it is beautiful.

the thing i don't like about double bass, is how much its overused. if you listen to bands like Avenged Sevenfold (don't get me wrong, great band, amazing drummer), he just abuses the double pedal and it gets old, real quick. I listen to a lot of Classic Rock, and i've noticed that if there is double pedal, its very hard to figure out where it is being used. Then there were people like John Bohnam, who didn't use it at all, and were still better than the best. One last thing: All of you people who think that there are things single bass pedals can't do that doubles can, go listen to buddy rich.

Mark dosent use one because Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) dosent and he loves Maiden. I agree, double kick is over used but I do like quite a bit... I just like single better
