and you should get a light meter like mine, the sekonic l-358. pretty much everyone with MF uses it. and it syncs with pocket wizards

but i wouldn't recommend buying it used, because if anyone touches the sensor, the whole light meter is pretty much ruined.

Na, you're thinking of large format photography, you can load and unload film to a mf cam without going to the darkroom.

L358 is a good meter, you have to pay extra for the chip to make it sync up with pocketwizards though, and apart from that there isn't much difference between that and the l308.

ok so after consulting my pro photographer friend, i figured out that the reason people have multiple backs is so they can have 2-3 different types and speeds of film on them
like a color back and a b&w back

martin is that really true that on a light meter its ruined if you touch the sensor? and is the sensor the white circle at the top?

You do have to be careful with the lens of the sensor, I wouldn't say the whole meter is but is ruined if you touch it, it can mess up the readings if there is dust and shit on it though.

The white dome is called the lumisphere, that covers the sensor. Its used it for incident metering, when you want to take a reflective reading you slide the lumisphere out the way so the sensor is out, but other then that the sensor is protected, so you don't really have to worry about it.

I have this, I haven't shot a roll with it yet though. Kinda scared to, people are selling these for $1,000 on ebay. It could use a lubing too, the shutter button was getting stuck and I lubbed it, but i don't know if everything else is moving good or not.

how did you get it?

and you could just get a yashica (sp?) and thats only like $275

I got myself banned.
It was my uncles, he died in like 94 or something and my dad busted it the day i got that super 8 camera so i snatched it from him.

Sports finders aren't really worth getting, I guess they are used to track moving things or something, but just get a waist level finder. Also, try to get a split image focusing screen, they are the best.

You should try take some photos with that bri, do you know the model number?
Its a twin lens reflex camera, you look through the top lens and the film is behind the bottom lens. I used to have a Mamiya c330 tlr and that was pretty good, and I know the yashica's are pretty popular, the 124g especially, and thats really cheap if anyone is looking to get into medium format.

Rolleiflex 3.5f. I know how to use it and stuff, just haven't bothered to buy any film. Im not the greatest photographer
