mismatched parts

I broke my fork the other day and I'm about to leave for a trip. The only replacement I have is some shirt offbrand similar to an a model. The only problem is that the threads start lower than razors. What can I do?

do you mean lower as in inside the headtube?

Yeah. They start about 4/5 of the way up the head tube.
