does anyone know a way to get .MOD files to work with Sony Vegas 8?

if i need to convert a file to work in my editor i just convert it to unconpressed avi, files are masive but that doesnt matter.

I've found that MOD files start work with Vegas 8.0c and later versions.
A friend of mine had a Vegas 8.0a and didn't work until he got a 8.0c
