I dont think GH would run steady enough on an emulator, the timing would be off.
You need to buy a modchip and solder up to 20 wires depending on your ps2 version. A couple of good chips to look into are Crystal chips, Matrix Infinity, Ice and DMS. There are some 'easy to insstall chips' but they fucking blow and there like $70 bucks. If you have no experience in soldering your probably not going to be able to install it, i'd look into finding an installer you could send the PS2 to get done.
The easiest way of playing burnt games is Swap Magic. Its a set of disks, and you either need a swap tool or buy a different top case for your ps2 that has a flip lid on it (assuming you had the fat ps2) so you can swap disks without the ps2 knowing. Google swap magic for more info.
Theres one other mod called the Independence Exploit, you need a harddrive, the ps2 network adapter and some way to get 2 files onto a memory card from the computer, but im not getting into this one since you can't play burnt games, you can only put them on the harddrive. You can only do this mod on a fat PS2.
A couple of weeks ago a video popped up online for this mod on memory card thing called Vast PS2. Its kind of like the independence exploit since its based on a memory card, but they put out one more video of the thing and no one has heard of anything since. If this does come out eventually it will be the best solution since theres no soldering and you can play burnt games.
