4) Burlington
5) Ontario
6)Canada
7) I have been a member since December 31, 2006 or 1481 days.
8) I was just browsing google looking for tutorials on how to tailwhip and suddenly sr poped up. So I made an account.
9) Well, I think I am qualified mainly because I have been around for a fairly long time compared to most of the newer sr members. So I have plenty of experience on sr.
10)Something unique I can offer is my knowledge of scooter culture. I watch scooter videos for approxiamtely 2 hours a day so, I have a very good general understanding of how difficult tricks are and what they are. I really enjoy giving advice to new members on help trouble shooting problems with their parts.
11)Personally my greatest complaint is definately how many community members will be rude to the new members on the site.
12) Currently I really like how the admins and mods are really trying their best to keep the arguing to a minimum. I find that alot of the stickied threads have help me signifigantely in the past. For example when I was trying to purchase deck a couple weeks ago I was unsure of the headtube anlge of pheonix decks. I checked the ''Scooter Deck Super Thread" and then found out it was actually 82.5.
13)I think a good fix sr should do is fix all the links in Brian Boston's "Scooter Modding Super Thread". I think alot of people would find that thread more usefull if it was updated more often along with many of the other stickied super threads.
Secondly I think the community members need to be nicer and provide a more friendly environment for all the new people who aren't as knowledgable as to how forums work.

14)My goal for changing the first thing is pretty simple just keep updating and checking the super threads to make sure all links in them work and update the super threads when new parts come out. For example the "scooter deck super thread" still says district decks have not come out yet. Although most people know they were released a few months ago.
For the second thing I belive should be changed I just think that warning more people that are being rude and possibly enforcing more harsh penalties will help get the message to these peoples heads easier.

15) I feel that I am fairly well respected throughout the community. I don't have to many enemies in the SR community. I have always followed the forum rules. Never recieved a waring or ban in the 1481 days I have been an active member. I have a great understanding of how the community works and how everyone should behave. I have made a huge impact here in Canada to the scooter scene. I got a park near called Inflow Bike and Skatepark to allow scooters. The owner of this park has been quite supported of scooters and has even hosted a comp where he gave scooters the whole day to ride. I also assisted in the organizational part of this comp. Coming the end of March/Begining of April he is hoping to host another comp. In the summers this park has a summer camp program where I helped the smaller kids with scootering fundamentals such as: tailwhips, how to dropin, 360's etc.

Thanks for your time,

Kyle Springer

I know Kyle personally and know he's definitely a good kid. I know his age is perfect for what I think we're looking for. He's already been in the sport a few years so I don't think he's leaving anytime soon. Plus, he's Canadian, so those sections of the forums he is more frequent on. The only thing going against him is the times in which he'd be online, being from North America.

1) Name: Michael Lewis Grayson Jr.
2) SR User Name: Mickey G.
3) Age: 14
4) City: Portland
5) State: Oregon
6) Country: USA
7) How long you have been a member on SR: 05-09-2010
8) How did you hear about SR: Found it by myself looking up scooter parts.
9) Why you think you are qualified to be one of the new moderators: Well, first off, I know when people are breaking the rules, and I think some of the moderators on the site don't really care. I will not give an example.
Second, I have always followed the rules, except once. Once, I was high and started posting a lot of topics in the discuss anything section. Though, I do not get high anymore, due to getting caught.
Third, I honestly hate people who breaks the rules constantly. If someone breaks the rules once or twice, they deserve a warning, but after that, it's really annoying. Plus I don't type like I am 2 years old.
10) What is something unique you can offer that no one else can:
I think some of the people on SR will try to become moderators just so they can abuse the powers. I would never do that. This may not be unique, but I honestly think most people would abuse the powers.
11) Your biggest complaint about SR currently:
So many people are going on SR breaking the rules. People need to read the rules before they start posting. Also, I hate the bad grammar. I can't stand seeing people talking like they have never been to school.
12) What you like most about SR currently: That I can talk about scooters without ridicule. I can share my scooter, videos of me doing my sport, and everything is organized and easy to find.
13) Things you think need to be changed on SR: People make so many useless post's and thread's it annoys me. And people fight a lot on the site, and there is too much cussing.
14) Your plan for changing these things: Well, for the people who make the useless threads can get warnings and bans. Also, I think the rules on the site should be more strict. A lot of the rules get broken unseen
Also, the cussing needs to mild down. If my dad saw this site with all this cussing, I would be banned from it. I can't stand all the cussing either, though I do cause a little myself.
15) Anything else you would like to add that you feel might qualify you more for this position than someone else:
Though, I may be only 14, I am way more mature then most people. So I hope my age doesn't stop me from getting a

I don't know this kid personally at all, but his application stood out to me. First and foremost, the grammar thing. If down the road we're looking for more people to help with content, spelling and grammar are going to be massively important. Living in Oregon he is definitely part of the NW scooter scene, which he could help bring exposure to. Also, living in Oregon he will most likely be online later at night than the rest of us in EST.

1) Name: Zane Bishop

2) SR User Name: Zaηe

3) Age: 13

4) City: Melbourne

5) State: Victoria

6) Country: Australia

7) How long you have been a member on SR: Since the 24th of March 2009, so nearly 2 years.

8) How did you hear about SR: Amongst searching and watching videos.

9) Why you think you are qualified to be one of the new moderators: Iv'e been on the SR for a long time now, i know who everyone is, how it all works and the rules quite well. I know how community forums work and how to navigate them well.

10) What is something unique you can offer that no one else can: Australian insight, since there is no other Australian moderators.

11) Your biggest complaint about SR currently: Well the SR has been running as smoothly as ever, i'd say it's just as good as you can get for a community forum.

12) What you like most about SR currently: The updates and posts on the homepage.

13) Things you think need to be changed on SR: Nothing comes to mind, the homepage has started being updated again so i cant say that. I think there needs to be Aussie mods again, because all mods/admins/peacekeepers are American. Australian mods are able to be on at different times too so there is moderator on at all times to ensure everything is as it should be.

14) Your plan for changing these things: There isnt much to change, i plan to keep everything tidy and as it should be.

15) Anything else you would like to add that you feel might qualify you more for this position than someone else: I use the SR every night and it's my next thing to check straight after Facebook, i go through every new post/bumped/popular thread to see whats happening. I would be dedicated to make sure everyone is behaving and all threads and sections are being used properly, and il never be away from the site for long periods of time.

Going mostly on what you guys thought of him. I don't know him personally and I don't know how he acts in the forums. I do know from the application he is 13 so I feel he might be one of the ones who stick around. Also, being from Australia I'd definitely be down with. IMO one of the new mods should be from Australia/New Zealand.

9) Why you think you are qualified to be one of the new moderators: I am nice to all members whether they scooter, or not. I also make sure people follow the rules.
10) What is something unique you can offer that no one else can: I've owned forums, i can program, I've moderated on forums before, i can make logos, pictures, videos, etc.
11) Your biggest complaint about SR currently: Too many people who post to sell without pictures/ To many unlegit
12) What you like most about SR currently: I love how everyone was nice to me when i just started
13) Things you think need to be changed on SR: I will crack down on rules and make sure people follow them.
14) Your plan for changing these things: Offer warnings for newcomers, but for people who know them, give them less warnings.
15) Anything else you would like to add that you feel might qualify you more for this position than someone else: I, unlike most, use proper grammar. At least to a certain extent. I also enjoy things many people unlike, i will never complain.

I think you should give me a chance
-Dylan Barnett

Like his age, grammar use, and the fact he said he knows programming. He just sounds like he knows his way around a computer, but may become power hungry. Not sure what else I can say, I agree with his last sentence, maybe we should give him a chance butt overall I'm less confident of this nomination, haha.

1) Name: Andy Bradford
2) SR User Name: a-brad
3) Age: 22, 3/4
4) City: Wilmington
5) State: DE
6) Country: US
7) How long you have been a member on SR: Since 02-21-2005 on this site. Previous to that on the oldd one!
8) How did you hear about SR: My friend steve schumann and I back in the day got into it when martin, kc, and silas henderson we're putting out videos.
9) Why you think you are qualified to be one of the new moderators: Getting back into the sport now that I've got a house, work, wife, dogs, etc. and starting to ride more. I'd like to stay around and give good feedback to riders, keep pushing the sport, and be an encouragement for the sport.
10) What is something unique you can offer that no one else can: A deef file of scoot knowledge and a friendly personality. Some assets like an extra bedroom if people are in the Philly, NJ, DE area and need a place to crash.
11) Your biggest complaint about SR currently: Occasional drama. Obnoxious kids. Always will be that way though when the majority of members are probably under 15 still.
12) What you like most about SR currently: That more and more kids are getting involved but SR stays solid in pushing the sport further.
13) Things you think need to be changed on SR: Making more available to the public about updates on big pushes for the sport. Not much overall though.
14) Your plan for changing these things: Trying to keep knowledge (thats not confident to teams or riders of course), out in the open.
15) Anything else you would like to add that you feel might qualify you more for this position than someone else: Just being decently respected by the people that've been on here a while. I'd like to get more into everything again and I think that by having a couple responsibilites to check up like on here would be one factor to keep me more focused.

Thanks!

I've known this guy for too long. He is very respected by the older riders and we need that kind of person. His age is awesome, I have been opting for younger guys so far but he obviously has proved his dedication over the years. He has a wife, house, and full time job - he knows responsibility. I definitely think he should be one of the new ones.

That's it for me. 5 nominations.

How did you hear about SR:
My cousin

9) Why you think you are qualified to be one of the new moderators:
I respect peoples opinions, and try to avoid any arguements or stop them from happening in the first place.

10) What is something unique you can offer that no one else can:
I dont discriminate anyone because of what they ride, how long theyve been riding, or how old they are. I try to offer help to anyone who needs its.

11) Your biggest complaint about SR currently:
The drama. People are always starting crap with eachother for absolutely no reason. To me, all this fighting just makes it seem like we're the ones giving our own sport the bad reputation by carrying on like a bunch of cry babies. Everyone should respect eachother as another rider.

12) What you like most about SR currently:
There are still good people on here. Its still a fun site to be on. I always come on here for news, check out new parts, try to help anyone with questions, and entertainment.

13) Things you think need to be changed on SR:
The "tolerance". Im sure youve seen all the stuff thats been started with muse lately. People have been warned to just knock it off, but no one listens. Im not saying we need to go ban crazy, but we need to tighten up on the people like that.

14) Your plan for changing these things:
I would warn people to knock off the childish bickering. I would also try to see things from each persons point of view and see if I could try to help solve the problem without banning anyone. Banning would be a last resort (as it should be) but I would enforce certain rules a bit more.

15) Anything else you would like to add that you feel might qualify you more for this position than someone else:
Ive been on the site for a while, I used to come on even before I had an account. I remember the old days of SR, when there were rarely any arguements and drama. All of these things are basically tearing our sport apart from the inside, and it needs to stop. I wont deal with the drama, but I will also respect every single person on here.

Name: Kieran Mayhew

SR User Name: Kieran Mayhew
Age: 15 (16 in 3 weeks.)
City: Fleet
State: Hampshire
Country: UK
How long you have been a member on SR: 1.5 Years. (18 Months.)
How did you hear about SR: Stumbled upon it when searching for my first ever scooter :)
Why you think you are qualified to be one of the new moderators: While I haven't been part of the SR community for as long as I'm sure other candidates have been, I have become extremely familiar with the forum rules, due to my own experience with how myself and others have deviated from some of these rules in the past. I have seen many different situations where a Moderator has stepped in and carried out the tasks they do to keep the forum a good place, and therefore have a strong knowledge of what each rule specificly implies. I visit the forum every day and night, to keep up to date with what's happening in the world, but I also observe the behaviour of fellow forum members, and learn from their mistakes to constantly make me a better person. I am confident at stepping in to any situations and always look for sensible solutions to a situation, no matter what the magnitude of the solution.
What is something unique you can offer that no one else can: I would say my main quality is that I am willing to listen to others. If a fellow member were to encounter a problem with other members on the site, I would be more than willing to try and resolve the problems between them and make the forum a happier place, I feel approachable. As a forum member, I am obliged to an opinion within debates/arguments. However I would always put my job before opinion and resolve problems without committing my opinion and risking even more inappropriate use of the forum.
Your biggest complaint about SR currently: The velocity of which arguments scale due to the constant addition of opinions of others. It causes a certain dislike amongst forum members to the point where one may be a victim of bullying/social exclusion.
What you like most about SR currently: The amount of information to be discovered for one thing. There is so much more to be learnt about our sport as it progresses ever so fast, and there will be no place to hear it first before SR! I also love the amount of new friends and acquaintances you can meet through either happening to live near them, or simply sharing the same interests as them. I mean we all ride scooters which is one common interest! I have met many new people just by finding out about events and gatherings with people from my area.
Things you think need to be changed on SR: The speed at which arguments/unnecessary threads are ended. The current Moderators and Administrators do an excellent job but they are possibly hindered by the lack of staff that visit the website each day. It fluctuates. By having more staff (Especially from different time zones.) there will always be somebody on hand to see to problems and situations occurring throughout the forum.
Your plan for changing these things: I think the main thing I will do is just make a regular appearance on the forum consistently. I live in the UK so I may be on the forum while the majority of members are off to sleep for the night. I can therefore keep watch over the happenings of MY daytime while there are not many other Mods to step in. This will keep the forum running smoothly all times of the day.
Anything else you would like to add that you feel might qualify you more for this position than someone else: I have on more than one occasion been caught in a situation where I deviated from the obvious option of backing away. However those days are now behind me and I much want to make up for my past mistakes by not letting them happen again in the future.

Many Thanks for considering my application.

Kieran Mayhew.

... Ran out of room, lol.

These four are the best options imo, Scott's the most down-to-earth kid I've ever met. He's super chill, always trys to help, and he lurks the site a lot. Zane's really mature, he helps often, and he's in Australia. Kieran Mayhew, same reasons as Zane. Andy, he's one of the nicest and most helpful people I've ever met. He filmed a bunch of stuff for me the first time I talked to him, which was super chill, and he's just soooo nice to everyone.

I guess I'm more down with Trainer than Zane, mostly because his application is just better. I just don't get why you guys all like Zane as much? Like I said, I like his age and location, but his application doesn't really stand out to me in any way?

But a couple others I nominated I'm still pulling for. Mostly Andy Bradford.

I really think that kid from the NW would be able to help with articles and stuff too. Grammar is sooo important.

Andy, Kyle, Michael, and Zane are my choices then.

Anyone think any of these are bad choices? This is a democracy let's hear opinions with VALID reasoning?! Not just names, I wanna hear something to support your idea!

Dustin Nooner

Super queer.
christian ewing - i know him personally and whatever i tell him to do he will do, he would just be the person who bans the bad people and not care who says shit to him he will do his job.

Keiran Mayhew - he knows whats up obviously..hes a great choice.

trainer - we all know why hes good.

spencer cunningham - hes an older guy and he knows how to deal with kids and there shit alot better then alot of us lol.

Alright, I'm not as stoked as I could be I guess, but here are final totals:

Kyle Springer - 1
Michael Grayson - 1
Zane Bishop - 3
Andy Bradford - 2
Scott Trainer - 4
Kieran Mayhew - 2
Christian Ewing - 1
Spencer Cunningham - 1

I'll do top four, so basically, if they got more than one nomination... they're in.
