My Bar Width

I've recently got all the materials to make bars and now all the matter is cutting the bars and assembling (my bars are basically the same thing as Buff Bars so they include no welds). I am wondering what a good width should be. I can't even barspin the stock 13's so definitely something longer, But nothing to big like 19's or 20's. I was thinking 17's may be good - two inches more on either side. I have a few questions for a few riders:

Brandon Kilbury - How wide are your bars? They look very comfortable.

Madis - How wide are your bars? They as well look very comfy.

Rad Cary - How wide are your bars? They look right in the middle of small and large.

-Thank you guys so much,
Conor

cut the bars too like 18, put em in, then see how you like them. If not, cut it down however much, and see if you like them. repeat the process until you have a good bar length. that'll probably take some time, but whatever.

I would say about 16-17" would be prime, I ride 16" bars and I'm going to make them 17" pretty soon and that'll be nice. If you want to do bars and stuff I'd say stick with that range. But of course you can go bigger if you want after that.

I used a go-ped clamp with an inner diameter of 1 1/8 inch. Then I ordered two chromoly pipes, One with an O.D. of 7/8 inch and one with an O.D. of 1 1/8 inch. I used the 7/8 pipe for the handle bar, obviously, and I used the 1 1/8 inch pipe for the stem. Then I drilled a collar with a 1 1/8 inch I.D. and a 1 1/4 O.D (so it would fit in an oversized BMX seat clamp) onto the bottom of the stem. Then I clamped the collar from the bottom of stem onto the fork.

The only reason I went through the trouble of the extra drilling and the extra collar was because I couldn't find a Go-ped clamp with a 1 1/4 inch I.D. and I couldn't find any steel pipe with a 1 1/8 inch I.D. and a 1 1/4 inch O.D. I could find these sizes in Aluminum but I didn't want that so I bit the bullet and did the extra work.
