My pinned French ID fork (pics)

First I thought I was lost. But then suddenly I was thinking and remembered a guy that had some tools that could help me. I showed him the original way to do this, but he said "naaah" that's not strong enough. So this is what we did:
(it workds so the legs doesent fall of. Cause the bottom of french ID forks is not weld. But what I did makes it strong and really good)

what does the pin do?

holds the 2 pieces of the fork together so they dont pull apart over time

It's so the legs don't come off of the fork tube.

No I don't think they sucks. They're pretty strong, but they should just pin it from the fabrik. otherwise I like it
