Natural or Unatural?

Shit, I've been riding ages. I realized a couple days ago that I've been riding seven or so years, probably closer to six because I didn't ride for like a year in there. But still, you kids are nuts. Half the kids on the site are better at tailwhips in half a year than I was in four years. Either way, though, you can't rush style ;)

i think it all depends on your dedication, how much you ride, how often you try new tricks, and how much you work on your style. also seeing something new will encourage you to do better, so yeah. thats my opinion

some has to do with what you did before. i rode bikes for years and years and skated before i started scootering, i progressed quicker than my friend who never did anything and started scootering

I learnt pretty slow, i rode just around and about round my village for a couple of years then dropped in a qp. then for about a year i did practically nothing and got back into it and learned whips. then this summer after about 3 or something years i got all the stuff id been trying quite easy like bris, tripples, 360 whips, trucks. But i ride everyday except for now - rain :(.

Another factor is who you are riding with. If you are riding with like pros or whatever, your natuarally gonna get better faster.

yeah, about the "riding for fun thing' i totally agree with it, but at the park which i ride at, it basically like having a big competition everyday and if you don't progress fast you get called a noob or shit etc... so yeah. Should i get down the basics before i try new tricks?

well i was a dumbass. and once i learned tailwhips thats all i did for 6 months of riding just tailwips and never tried anything thing new cuz i was afraid i couldnt. then about a year ago i tried new tricks. & i realized wow i should have tried these things a year and ahlf ago but never did. I kinda burns my ass but w/e. and yes it is based on how much you practice and if you are willing to learn/try new things

i have just been doing tons of dubwhips and jumping over big things, so like 2 weeks ago i started trying new tricks and idk, if i just had more variety at the start it would be easier, but w/e i will just have to work harder.

ive learnt fingers, bris, front scooties, whip rewinds tripples ect all in the last 2 months...and thats since i started going to skate parks

i find that the kids that leard stuff faster have no style at all.
for example this kid i ride with is pretty good for riding for one year but his style is soo bad

motivation and commitment my man thats how you get good put some pads on dont be scared to fall if you wanna get really good just be devoted to it

Well, that's not always true. I rode with my friend for ages, and he was pretty decent but took him/me forever to learn. He has no style.

i think a major factor is if you have people to ride with. it pushes you to do more stuff and learn more

thats exactly like me maybe about 3 years though
Same here, 3 years. Sorry, seasons. Because I wasn't able to ride indoor parks in winter. But now I sometimes can go to the St.Pete's local since I moved here. So, practising skills in park seems much easier that trying the same tricks down stairs. So yeah - like Addy said:"Practise in park - ride in street"
