need compression for french id

what up, i haven't been here in a while and i hardly ride at all anymore, but i have a french id in my garage that's been sitting there for like a year so i might as well just put it on since i spent like $90 on it. i don't know what happened to the compression thingy, so i need a new one and i don't know what to get, or where to get it. if it's more than like 20-30 dollars i probably won't buy haha.

just so you know, it is threadless, i have rad og bars, and a fsa pig sealed headset. so yeah, what do i need to get so i can put this on?

thanks

go to your local bike shop and buy a oversized starnut. then do to a hardwhere store and buy a lont threaded rod that fits in the starnut, then get a bolt and a spacer that fits neat in the fork (might have to file it)

then your done. will cost you way less than a proto ics haha

I know www.c4scooters.com carried FID Compression Kits. Send them an e-mail or message via their website and I'm sure they'll hook you up. Even if their website says 'Not in Stock', I would still give them a try...

Ok well I found my old French Id compression thing. It's missing the small bolt that goes through the bottom of the fork though...

I used it a long time ago and the bolt came loose and destroyed my eagle. But if I tightened it too much the bars wouldn't spin. Did I set it up wrong or what. Also after riding for a little while, wouldn't the bars just push down on the headset making it not able to spin?

Sorry I don't know much about this. And I just saw there was a specific section for this so move it if you want

Bars are supposed to compress the headset using ICS. I suggest blue locktite so it doesn't fall out. You can buy compression bolts off of people or DSA or.. anywhere that sells ICS kits.
