Hey,

Sorry in advance for any bad grammar :p I am 19 and used to do some scooting and bmx about 10 years ago so i wasn't good in any way but i had fun. i stoped because i was a little cry bitch back then and had my first 4 stitches from a bmx steer in my leg. i have a friend that does scooting for a while now and i can ride his scooter some times. i feel like starting to learn it better and buy one myself but some how i feel to old to start now.

my questions: what kind of time could it take to get half decent at it. right now i can almost land a tailwhip, and a decent size manual also what would be a good starting scooter for about 100-150 euro?

It's different for everyone. Don't ride to be good just ride to have fun. It's pointless doing it if you're only worried about being good. As for a good starting set up I can't help you, I don't even know half of the shit they sell these days.

Just ride other peoples set ups if you have friends that ride and see what you like.

Also try getting 110 mm wheels and a wide deck straight off the bat. It's much easier on a wide deck especially if you're riding park. Move onto thinner decks later on once you've learned a bit. That's if you want a thinner deck, I'd rather a thinner one personally but apparently wide decks are the thing to ride now.

Hey let me give you my point of view on it, im 23 and i just got back into scooters after not riding for about 5yrs or something! back then i basicly stopped cause i felt like an idiot most of the time but could never really let it go so a few weeks back i went and bought the first kinda decent scooter ive ever had (was riding old a's and b's due to the lack of proper parts in europe at the time) and im havin a shit ton of fun ridin again!! it sounds cliché but as long as your havin fun riding your really not to old!! but for me a big part of havin fun has to do with not thinkin about what others might think of it!

I bought an oxelo mf 3.6 (which most ppl on here probably wouldnt consider to b very good) simply because i could go and get in a store near me, its cheap and id say the parts are decent enough to get you through the time of figuering out weither you wanna stick with riding or not and if you do your probably gonna have to get better parts anyways no matter what complete you buy! at least i havent heard of a perfect one yet

I'm 29. I just started and I am having a lot of fun. As long as I can jump over stuff, do whips and manuals then I am fine. Don't worry about trying to get good, just try to do. It's a lot more fun that way.

For the purpose of buying a scooter, it depends on your height and shoe size i'd say, if you're generally tall and big get something that fits you and that feels good to ride. As long as you have a scooter that fits you, and feels nice to ride, eventually learning tricks will go along with it, but just have fun.

I was edgy about getting back into it but decided to and I am absolutely loving it, so much fun!

As for a good set-up I am riding a Grit Invader, possibly one of the nicest scooters I have ever ridden and so far I haven't had any problems with it, might be something to check out!

Good luck!
