dont get a vx

Not necessarily, just stay away from the 2k, worse of the 3 in image quality and audio.

Phoenix, please start posting questions like this in the Filming Netjiot thread, thats what its made for, Joe Riley and I are making an attempt to organize this section.

The Filming Netjiot thread can be found here, http://scooterresource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68450

But I would suggest some kind of vixia, especially if you're looking to do filming more than photos. DSLRs tend to not have all the video capability that an actual camcorder will have. They are also moneypits and you really going to need a lot more than 800 to make a decent setup cause the audio on DSLRs is awful and when you add up a fisheye, a good handle, the mic and external lights, you're looking at a quite a bit of money.
and they also tend to produce bland/worse footage.

The canon hf200 is the perfect camcorder for you, and an opteka baby death for a fisheye, easily in your price range and will produce great footage.
these two can be found here.

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-VIXIA-Memory-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B001OI2Z2I canon hf200 here, you can get them used for around 450-ish.

http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-OPT-SC...Q2PS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1323180457&sr=8-3 opteka "babydeath" The cheaper version of the century baby. 80$

and if you decide to not take my advice, go with the t2i, the t3i has the same video capability as the t2i but with a flipout screen, but i dont think that merits the 200$ price difference.
If you go with a t2i, lurk ebay/craigslist and you can probably find a good deal on one with a kit lens.

Not a terrible deal, a better alternative than than the 730$ pricetag they have at local stores such as targets or bestbuys.
