no, don't cut the fork you are currently running. use an old one. it just needs to act as something that the bars can clamp down on. the point of not having slits is that so your bars don't squeeze smaller as you tighten the scs. putting an old fork tube that fits snugly in your slitted bars will prevent it from squeezing like it would with a normal clamp.

you can use bars with a slit as long as there is at least a small amount of the bar that's being clamped but not slit
