New new a deck problem, and perhaps a solution?

Well today i found out, on new new a decks, like the space between those lines on the side, is skinnier, which means there isn't enough room to put b folding plates on while having the headtube fit. For a rider like me who is small and likes new a/b foldy, this sucks. Pros are nice and all but i like new a decks better. Hopefully they won't all be like this from now on.

But i have thought of something that maybe would work. First, you find a solid plate, large enough to cover the front end of the deck. Then, you line it up over the deck and drill holes through the plate and the deck, and bolt the foldy on. Then you put the headtube in, and find some spacers so it could be locked properly. The plate and deck should also be welded, i'm sure having it bolted so close to the edge of the deck would be pretty weak.

Please give me your opinion on whether this would work, and tell me anything else you think would help.

b foldy fits fine. its not the space between the lines that matters, its the space between the sidewalls.

edit: and your description is pretty vague, i dont understand/cant visualize your "solution"

i dont know if u would want to do this... it works fine for me... take a bolt and lock washer and put it in the top... and tightin as much as possible.

yeah its hard to describe, but you've given me the words. The space between the sidewalls, thats too small. if you were to drill the holes they would actually go straight into the walls. i just got a new a last week, so i guess they made a new batch and changed a few things. I also noticed the wheels have more rubber then usual.

i'll try to describe my solution better.

You find a rectangular plate, and put it on top of the deck. the holes for the rails are drilled into the plate, and the deck. Instead of being on the inside of the sidewall, the holes are on the outside, because the space between the sidewalls is too small. Then you bolt the rails on. Now, they will be too wide for a headtube to fit snugly, so i guess you could find some kind of spacer to fill in the space, and lock it properly.
