Well basically, my bike is gone. So I've been trying to get my dad to but me a new one. To help this I compared prices of my old bike with the parts it needs to be fixed and a new bike with parts replaced that need to be (like cranks, I can't ride big cranks). I came up with this big thing. Somethings, like Dave are something you wouldn't know unless you were from around here.

Staats: Sell for at least $400
GT El Centro: $250 from Dave (Save $100)
Industry Stroker 170mm Cranks ($80)
Odyssey Trailmix Pedals in the LE color ($35)

Old GT:
New Crank and BB setup - $95
New Gear setup - $27 (might need a whole new back wheel set up - $100)
2 Pegs - $16
New Pedals - $35
New Brake Setup - $40
New Grips, Bar Ends, and Bars - $41
New Seat - $44
New Gyro - $20
New Chain - $10
Total Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?â?? $328 ($428 if a new back wheel is needed)

Conclusion: The new bike would be better for multiple reasons. One is the price. Even though the old bike I currently have could be cheaper to replace part on, there are things on the newer bike that would be stronger. Having a stronger, better quality, part saves money in the long run. Another factor in price is the shipping on all those parks and tax. There are a lot of parts, which could add a lot of cost onto the total. The only things that would need to be shipped for the new bike would be the cranks and pedals, which might add $10. Another reason for the new bike is the value too me. I donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t mean to be shallow, but I personally would be much happier with something new than fixing something old. I think that applies to most people. Another possible reason is the effort needed to fix the old GT. It would take a lot of work, some of which you donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t know how to do, to put all the parts on that bike. One final reason is the look of the bike. Look is important to me personally. I would not like to be riding an ugly bike nearly as much as a good-looking one. So basically, I hope you agree with what I am saying.

So really, what I'm looking for is anything else I could say too help this along. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Only problem with paying half is that I have no money and I never get any. I'd be down waiting a couple of weeks saving an allowance or saving money from a job, but the problem is I don't hve either of those. He said the day we left there, had I had $90 I would have had it in the car that day. The last money I had i used to buy gloves for snowboarding. They were $90 so I think he is trying to make a point. I really want this bike and especially the pedals and cranks. They all look so nice together and the quality is good. If he would let me sell my current race bike I would have easily enough money for this, plus probably some better quality cranks than I put up there. I'm starting to think now that I should look at prices on E-Bay for the parts on my race bike and see how much I could get if I parted it out. That would be a larger amount of money (which my dad is all about) so I might be able to persuade him better because it would actually making a profit for us (minus the race fees that that bike has been through, more than $200 easy). What does he do for a living?

Maybe if he's like, a construction worker (Like my dad is)
or if he works at an office, or whatever he does.

Ask him to let you work with him sometimes, do that for maybe a month or so, and then get your bike.

Umm. no? Chris, hes actually a Pepsi dude. He delivers it. I can't really come with him. The only way I get money is going places with my friends where he gives me money for stuff and I just keep it. I did horrible with that once though, I wanted to save the money he gave me, but I was in the game room and ended up spending $20. I was so pissed when I picked up all the tokens.
