Bike frames weigh about as much as a scooter deck. We could figure it out. Also I wouldn't mind riding a 5 pound deck. After all, it's only 5 pounds. That's not a lot of weight.

You would be able to grind the shit out of it with not as much wear compared to aluminum. It'd be much heavier.

Bottom line is, why make a steel deck, when you can make an aluminum one?

Because steel is stronger. There's got to be a reason why the majority of bike frames aren't aluminum. Those things last years and years, too.
