I'd think it's because of the design. It's a bit more complex having the gussett like that. Instead of just pinching the metal and welding it like they had in the past. If they are anything like their old bars or better. They will be totally worth it.

Their HELLA CUSTOM DAWG!
The rider gets to choose the design and they take 2-3 times the amount of time to make as any of our production bars since jigs/tooling must be adjusted/changed for each individual pair of bars. Price may change in the future. I just want to see how this works out.

let me give two GOOD reasons why they are worth it.

1) rads were one of the first legit scooter part companies out back in the OG days, so Cory knows what he is doing, kinda like andrew, who has been around forever and has been making parts for a while now - they have hella experience.
2) think of how much extra time cory has to take out of his day to not only process and make everyone elses orders, but also the added man hours needed for all the custom orders to be met which require making the gussets to your specifications, cutting down to size, and then welding them together spotlessly. 80 bucks is a completely reasonable price to charge for all that extra work.


edit: BAM, just checked the rad site, and apparently the minimum charge for the custom bars is now 70 bucks. Quit your whining.

EVEN IF rad made the most shithouse bars, the fact that they have a website already puts them one step ahead of you. No customer wants to constantly have to fuck around with email and pms just to order a pair of bars. Just shows that cory is more organized and actually CARES about making his customer's buying process as hassle-free as possible.

Ahhh I knoww. I wish my site was as fancy as AJ says it is. Then I could have something like that.

For now Im just working on getting small pics of each gusset and explain what they work with and stuff. Then when you pick from the options at least people will know what it is they are chooses better.
