Hey guys, I haven't ridden in a few years but want to get back into the wonderful sport of scootering, but first, I need a scooter. I need the following: New bars (grew out of old ones), new deck (old one is bolted foldy and cracked), I think I have a spare headset? A new compression system (have an old scs, opionions on scs vs. HIC?) and some new wheels. Basically a whole new scooter. I might get flamed for just saying, "HEY WHAT DO I BUY?" But I figure I have to start somewhere. I would like to stay at about ~$250 and certainly do not need "pro" "extreme" "advanced" or any of these sort of parts. Just a basic scooter that will get me riding again. Any suggestions on parts/companies to look at would be much appreciated as I don't know about half of what people are talking about on here. Sorry if thees ees bahd thred.

get a district V2 deck, cheap, and a lot like your pro model. you should also get a pair of vertx t bars for like 40 bucks. keep your scs, and get proto striker forks for 60 bucks. then get some proto sliders for 75. all that will run you a little over 250, but will be a good setup

A while back MGP came out with their 2012 version new completes so with that their old complete Nitros went on sale, I sold my old complete because I quit for a few months and then came across the Nitro on sale for $260, now they are $200. So far its holding up great haven't had any problems with it. Besides you'll need grips because they come with lock-ons. I would definitely look into getting one from east2west.

Thanks so much guys, a small question when ordering bars, I know the scs causes the bars to be about 2in higher than they would be otherwise, but do I order the bars to be two inches less than I would like them, or will the company compensate for this?
Also, will threadless forks come with a starnut installed?

You can pick up a 2011/2012 MGP Pro for under $130. (I got my 2011 for $80 new) If you want something a little more 'improved', I would suggest getting the MGP Team Edition. I would purchase a MGP if you are interested in 're-living' your scootering days; they're quality material for a decent price.

I went ahead and got a v2i and some vertx teebars along with some grippers. It was a bit expensive, but I figure it wont take long to get back in the swing of it and theyll last me a long time. Thanks so much everyone.
