New to the scooter world, need some advice

Hey there, I recently have had the urge to get a 50cc scooter mainly because I've heard you don't have to insure them just register them. On the other hand I have no knowledge on scooter such as what brands are reliable and generally good, I'm look to get a used one just for around town driving if anyone could give me some advice on brands to look for and things I should look out for when checking out a scooter. Thanks

I know this is irrelevant but you can own a 50cc scooter and drive by yourself with it while you're on your permit haha
