most parts of NY dont get a huge amount of snow... its just that in western ny and up just north of syracuse area... there are these big things called lake erie and lake ontario... and before they freeze over the cold air goes over them... warm air from the lake rises... and then condenses... then makes snow! yay! so in other words... lake effect snow = adds up.

thanks. and with the flower/scenery.... im not sure what i could've done. i tried to incorporate trees and stuff... but it is winter haha theres not many flowers that are in season that im aware of.

and the fireworks were for the "ice castle" thing in mayville new york. reeves got some pictures too. i think he has a few sequences that are pretty nice.

i had my tripod with me and i wanted to do like a 10 second shutter (these were like 1.5 or 2 i think) but i didnt know how long the fireworks would last because they were already going when we pulled up. i dont know how they would've came out though.

you been taking some gnar pics with 30d?

I dont shoot in any mode other than manual..and i had the shutter anywhere from 1/60 to 2 seconds..and i was shooting in continuous..also i had the ISO set to auto because i hate messing with that

You need to overexpose by 1 or 2 stops if there is a lot of snow in the frame Dylan, use exposure compensation.
