Osgood-Schlatter Disease

Osgood-Schlatter (OS) disease is one of the most common causes of knee pain in the adolescent. Consisting of pain and edema of the tibial tubercle (and hence this is an extra-articular disease), OS disease is generally a benign, self-limited knee condition associated with traction apophysitis in adolescent boys and girls.

I have it and the doctor told me not to ride for half a year &|

i have had that since 7th grade (im in 11th grade now) and it was from hitting my knees with the pedals on my bike. but i just tuff it out and say "NO FUK IT!!" i dont care im gonna ride cuz im that hardcore ;)

Hmm I was told that it sometimes happens to kids from 10 to 15 years old, and its not caused by anything, like genetic caused or something. Its like he doesnt have a piece of a bone some where in he's knee and he has to wait for it to grow. It might happen even in like 2 months and he will be back riding.

Its not like a stand alone bone, lol its like a bump which has to grow on the bone below the knee (sorry, I suck terribly at medical vocabulary, haha), and then make it support the knee. Everyone has it, but the disease made it somehow disappear (die out?) so it has to grow back.
