I'm using Premiere 6.0 (I know its old, but I can't find a good version of 7.0 and up, so I'm still using it for now) and I cannot figure out how to do a basic overlap transition, like in WMM you can overlap the clips and one fades into the other. If anybody knows how to do it and can help me out, that'd be nice. Thanks in advance. Oh yea and freedom rocks.

put clip 1 on section A of the timeline, then put clip 2 on section b of the time line, move clip 2 so its a bit under clip 1 and goto the transition box, look for cross fade and put it on the transition section of the timeline(if it fades the wrong way, double click the transition and click on the arrow so it switches to the other direction), hit eneter and wa la

wow on 7 all you have to do is have them next to each other and drag it between them..hahaha

i use roxio videowave and wmm and they work fine for me. true my vids suck but oh well it was good for $50.

how do you do audio fades like music in premiere 6? also, when i try to do like a cross fade like you (brian boston) said, the preview monitor just shows a black screen with a red X on it. same thing for splitting clips to do slow-mo. and ideas on why that happens?

for audio fades, the line that your audio is on, next to the word audio there should be an arrow pointing to the right, click that and it will drop down a box with a red line going across, find the spot where you want to start the fade, click it and it will put a rubber band there(red dot), the goto the end of the song and drag that end down and it should fade out.
