Painting my scooter

well i just need some advice to paint my scooter and how can i make the paint last for a long time.. also what type of paint should i use

i used a marker pen, and its holding up fine on my forks, or wat i ised to spray ma bike forks was proper car spray , hard to chip off.
put a gloss over it , looks allot better and professional

Just use some straight spray paint.

But, sand it raw first, then spray 2 light coats of primer, and then a coat of the color.

My bars are in really good condition even after painting them in summer. just some scratches from transportation.

I made a tutorial how to spraypaint a bikeframe:

- Get yourself some spraypaint. You'll need a baselayer, color and varnish/clearcoat.

- Get some sandpaper. You'll need grid 400 and 600.

- Pull your bike apart

- Sand it roughly with 400. Make shure you get everey corner. After that
you'll do it once more with 600.

- then put un the baselayer. Its better to put on 2 baselayers
to get out any of the inperfections of the former paint
If you get zinkspray it will be dry in like 10 seconds
and you can start right off with the color.

- spray 3 thin layers of colourpaint.

- let it dry a bit, so get yourself a nice beer.

- then get the clearcoat and spray 2 layers on it as an extra shiny thing.
If you have a flat color you'll need heat-resistant clearcoat.
So your color will stay flat.

- let it dry for something like 24 ours. Or what the manual says.

- then put your bike back together and show off!
