What if the slit is larger in gap, but shorter in length. Then make sure the clamp clears the length of the slit by a decent margin, an inch or so.

OR

HICSCS - An HIC shim is used to compress. Then sort of an SCS clamp with an ID to go over the shim... Then throw the non-slitted oversized bars in.

I've thought of the HICSCS idea before actually, then I realised it's pretty much the exact same thing

Yeah that HIC SCS thing is completely pointless. It's an overcomplicated SCS. Honestly, what would it accomplish if that idea was used?

Well, for one, it would be cheaper. A shim comes with most HIC bars, and then all you would have to do would be get a quad clamp for like $30. But I do agree its over complicated and not worth it.

Make an 90 degree deck for shits and giggles.

i say make it 4 bolts. people hate having 4 bolts as it is and 5 bolts is just an extra hassle to get it tightened equally. i'd say add a design to your scs and hic clamps to show that your company's different but still does the same job as it's supposed to.
