.... I just got off the phone with the Risk Officer guy and he was helpful, but he doesn't think its gonna happen.
The list of ridiculous reasons why scooters aren't let into santa monica skatepark is growing:
1. the state of California prohibits the use of scooters in 12+ foot bowls... or something like that.
2. scooters have handle bars which, when used in a skatepark, can "seriously injure or impale the rider"...
3. they would need to have a seperate session for scooters only (which I wouldn't mind
) and that is highly unlikely...
He was a nice guy but I feel that these reasons are becoming more and more ridiculous. JUST LET US RIDE!!!

man thats just over the top, scooters is a sport like all outhers.

ummm there is no state law crap about scooters in 12 ft bowls.
unless it was made like 2 months ago. the laws werent prohibiting that crazy shit when we were fighting the rules.
and impaling!!?!? wtf? tell me, anyone here ever been impaled by their scoot!? i haven't
heres another thing
when they were being all bitchy about changing the rules at my park, they put up some stupid issue like scooters damage the park.
we said
- the nuts on the sides of skateboards will chip the concrete and cause damage.
-and they cause just as much damage as us to metal coping metal and metal do not wear as fast as you would think when it grinds. (the Moh's scale) softer things will get scratched by harder things dumb ass scooter haters!!
so ya that guy is putting you off man...
go to city hall and ask if you can get in the agenda and present your facts to the parks and rec. people, then you need to have information ready so you can easily handle the main questions that anyone would ask about why scooters should be alloed, and would it screw up te park.

shebang skatepark (like 45 minutes from my house) rents out the park for 15 people max for 2 hours for 85.00... is that bad?
