Not sure if this is the best place to post this, sorry.

Ok what I want to do is: make the backround of an image black and white while the rider is still in full colour. I know its fairly simple but I have no idea about how to do it. Any help gets a hug.

well i use the magnetic lasso to cut people out but use any of the lassos or something to cut the person out, then hit copy and paste so its just like the cut out person over the original picture as another layer, then..well im not sure where it is but find "desaturate" and do that to the background layer, then the original picture will be black and white but the cut out person pasted on top will still be in color over it.

edit: a 2nd way that might not take as long is to just desaturate the picture to start, then go over the person with the history brush.

I did the desaturate and history brush method and it work perfectly. Thanks BK :)

For future refrence, on PS CS2, desaturate is Ctrl+Shift+U

Its real easy if you know how to use Paths and the pen tool properly..you just make you selection and inverse it...



making the selection can be realy hard tho.depends whats in the background of the shit.like trees always makes it hard.
