Angle steel? Idk, this might hold up for a while. You definitely have to cut the edge at the bottom, You're not doing any toothpick stuff because it will bend instantly and it will do nothing but harm your leg.

and its actually 3mm thick mild steel plate. we use this stuff out at work in installations that apply much more stress to it then scooter riding would.
also, b4 anyone says "the welds will break", it was welded up by a mate of mine who is literally one of the best welders on site, so i have full faith in his ability and the strength of his welds.
