Is there any good picture editing software out there? Like a bsic free one
photoshop cs4
He asked for a free program, not a $2000 program.
Picnic? I thought that was pretty nice.
you can find it for free
Photoshop is good. In fact, it's what I use most of the time.. But to someone just getting the program and having no knowledge of it whatsoever, they aren't going to get what they want. They're just going to end up getting their photo with some stupid filter over it.
Lightroom is so much easier to pick up from just opening the application.
You upload your pic, go to the develop mode, and you get a wide selection of easy to use options.

This is only half of the menu:

All you have to do is move around the bars and get what you think is best... At least until you figure out what they mean
The software is used by many many professional photographers. I've worked as an intern in 3 different studios, and they swear by it. Lightroom is a simplified version of Photoshop.
I've never used Gimp, but it's downloading now and I plan on checking out.
You can download it illegally for free.you can find it for free

You can get a 30 day free trail of Photoshop and Lightroom, thats as close to legal free as your getting.
