at first i thought it was a trick to add them to a hazard list so they COULDN'T get into parks heh... but then i read it ;)

How did the meeting with the City of San Clemente go? I know the Insurance company didn't want to underwrite a Mixed use park since the denied the BMX group.

Wish I could have come down but I didn't find out until the day of the meeting.

California passed a Law ( a while ago) so that Cites could not be sued by morons who partook in dangerous activities and were injured.

Releasing the cities from Liability against law suits allowed the local governments to build Skate parks, Mountain biking trails, horse riding trails etc etc.

The big impact was for Skateboarders because this allowed Skateparks to be built.

Unfortunately Scooters were not listed on the List of California Hazardous Recreational Activities and this omission leaves the Cities open for law suits and thus we have Scooters banned from Skate parks.

The irony in this battle is the Skaters who fight Scooter riding since Skaters were in this same situation years ago.

Funny how they usually call out Scooter riders as lame but then argue it is too dangerous for Scooters to be in the park :)
