wow so much is wrong here...
first tyler, the reason terrorists are attacking us is because we feel the need to patrol the world. we have military bases all over the globe for no justifiable reason. what would happen if pakistan tried to set up a military base in new york city? i think we'd be pretty pissed about that. if anything, pulling out of iraq would help STOP terrorist attacks.
sean, i see what you're saying on a lot of points, but do some more research, most of your ideas are unfounded.
drugs - why is 1 pound of drugs illegal when half a pound isnt? if you mean that they intend to sell if you have over a pound, what's wrong with that? alcohol and tobacco are more deadly than any illegal drug, yet you can buy them anywhere. the drug war is ruining this country.
patriot act - why does the government have a right to tap into my phone? my phone is exactly that, MINE. we need to get as far away from the patriotic act as possible. it is illegal and unconstitutional. the government has no right to listen in on my conversations.
death penalty - the united states is one of only a couple modernized countries that still uses the death penalty. we are putting ourselves in line with countries like iran and pakistan. it is cheaper to house an inmate for the rest of his life than it is to murder him. and to me, spending my life stuck in a 4x8 cage is MUCH worse than death. murderers don't get sent to prisons where you get weekend leave and play shuffleboard all day, they're sent to maximum security penitentiaries where there life is a living hell. THAT is what they deserve, not the death penalty.
iraq - we don't have to defeat terrorists. all we have to do is pull out of their countries and give them no reason to attack us. and the reason we went to war in iraq is oil, plain and simple.
gun control - rifles should be legal for hunting. handguns should be legal for law enforcement. that's it. why does any civilian need a handgun? someone gets murder in philadelphia every day. almost all of them are handgun related. i see a problem there...
healthcare - universal healthcare is definitely the way to go, but it won't happen anytime soon and will be extremely hard to implement if we ever do. social security is running out, we can't educate our children, so how are we supposed to pay everyones medical bills?
taxes - obviously SO messed up right now, you're right on that.
education - the united states government should completely remove itself from controlling education, they're only fucking it up.
gay marriage/abortion - clearly the government shouldn't be able to say who can or can't get married, and this is is just a personal opinion of mine, but abortion is murder and is almost never justifiable.
war - no recent wars have been caused by religion. ww1, ww2, korea, vietnam, persian gulf, iraq. none of them were based on religion.
