i dont like how in #2 its solid aluminum or that you cant use a CP system

but on the plus side if you somehow do snap the aluminum you can unbolt it and replace it instead of getting a whole new fork
How can't you. From what I understand about the compression system it is basically the same. Weld a lock nut on top of the fork tube to keep it in place and just put an extra long bolt through and thread it into the compression system. The only problem I could see is that you would have to thread the bolt in by turning the fork instead of the bars, but that isn't big at all.

fail. you can't weld steel to aluminum lol. You can just get two nuts on the top end of the forktube, tighten one to hold together the forktube, and then tighten the other one on top of it so the whole thing doesn't come loose, then you'd turn the fork into the compression starnut, or you could get SR team bars and use a threaded rod that goes all the way through the bars and just stick a washer and a nut on top of the top hole in the bars and tighten it down..

Thats exactly what i was planing to do, only I would do it less ghetto and use partical bars. It looks like Ill be making design 1 soon. If that works good in testing I will stick with that, because every one seems to like it. If anyone is going to the XW comp and would like to test either design, pm me and I will consider making one for you to test. Testers will have to pay for the price of materials, and report to me about the fork.
