Well I had an idea of making bars out of titanium would it work?

The tubing would cost about 25-30 bucks, the only thing is how is it welded?

Anyone know? im guessing tig weld with titanium wire

Would this be a good idea? Yes, it would cost more but it is way stronger and lighter than chromoly

lol WOW!!!! This is an absolutely TERRIBLE idea! TI is NOT an ideal material for making scooter parts out of. TI translates in the scooter world as NO. Off topic but if anyone remembers a thread like this awhile ago and someone saying something along the lines of, "Titanium bars reinforced with concrete!! It would never break!" rofl

Chris, remember I told you to chill? It still holds true. Either way, this is pretty much a waste of money, just use chromoly. There is a reason why bmx frames, bars, and forks are almost only made of chromoly. Because it's strong.

I'm pretty sure TI doesn't weld well at all, plus chromoly is much stronger. normal grade TI is heavier than aluminium and weaker than steel, if you make some bars get some 2024 aluminium, its the highest grade, its a bitch to weld but probably worth it, if not just get a buff stem and your set

No the highest grade would be around 7075 alu but can't be welded
a good alloy to use is 6061-T6 (aircraft grade) its easier to weld but a tad more expensive

its a rediculous idea. but you could use titanium crossbar and steering tube if you want, but id just go with aluminium or chromoly

titanium is strong for its WEIGHT. chromoly is much stronger.
and why do you keep saying material is so cheap? its not. you have to get a very specific size, and its not a cheap as you think. its definitely not $12 for aluminum bars, or 25 for titanium. you are the kid who keeps saying you know everything. ya ssffool

Ok guys, i admit i am a dipshit and I dont know much but i think this could be good

Depending on the grade you got, titanium is a way better material that chromoly because it is stronger and lighter, although its a bitch to weld

Once I get some money ill make some titanium buffs to show you

And i got enough 6061-T6 allu for a pair of bars for $3 please stfu
