Potential home made fork/ home made parts thread.

I chopped off the dropouts from my old deck. Im going to use them as legs. I also cut of the legs from my stock fork as you can see in the picture so the only thing left is to sand down that square plate until it's flat and then weld a new plate on there so that the new legs will fit and then finally weld the new legs on. I personally think this is a pretty good idea for a fork especially because all you need are some spare parts and access to a welder. what do you people think? is this a good potential fork?!

i want thoughs forks!!! beast mode!!! thats even better than SR's!!

That won't work.

Those are aluminum parts of a deck.. and you would need to weld an aluminum plate on.. which can't be done because the fork is steel.

sorr but epic fail, if you wanna use dropouts use ald a's dropouts.

not entirely epic fail, if it woulda worked it would of been pretty good and old A dropouts are even worse.

Just need to get that plate on and it'll be ready for action :). You guys think i should make the whole thing square and then angle it out like the inward fork, or leave as is ?!

don't worry, i measured it and made sure that it's not gonna hit the head tube. you just need to take of the plate though.

yup true, also even if u could weld it u have get a fork thats ether broken & a deck plus spend money on those to make it

below home made forks, they never bent on me, i just was stufffing around with the idea last year

needed: 1 x YAK twin spring suspension fork 2 x Sockets to fit over the legs tubes, 2 x High tensil bolts, 2 x Washers, 2 x lock nuts

what are the dimentions of the bolts?

wow. dude your fork looks sketch to the ULTRA IMPOSSIBLE max. I think god made scooter decks to stand on, no to brake off after a tailwhip and in result of you landing on your face...
