It would be so awesome if more scooter riders tried to present themselves better.

I feel like thats the biggest problem in the sport besides scooter dads.

any thoughts?

Its super obvious scooter riders don't care if they present themselves as just complete idiots and its just making us all look bad.

exactly. Dont show up to the park and just act like a retard. Let the little kids ride your scooter, make friends with the skaters, and talk tricks with the bmx'ers
I think you make a good point here tyler

I've never had an issue at any park I've gone to. Because I'm chill. Most people on bikes/skaters enjoy my company, and are too impressed with my skills to critique my wardrobe, so I don't care about that either, as cocky as that sounds, its true.

Ask r-dubya

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, the only people who have ever brought up what I wear (the signature pads/shorts/sleeveless shirt combo) have been scooter kids.

I always answer the little scooter kid's questions
About where I got my scooter parts from and what should they be doing
To learn tricks and all that. We are not going to be welcomed into the world of
Action sports if we are a bunch of jerks so I always try to be the best person that I can.

It's more like grow up and instead of treating scootering as some random thing you do and you just kinda say "yeah I ride scooters.." to get skaters or whoever off of your back, completely accept that it's a part of your life and not some phase or if it is a phase for you, then stick up for yourself as a rider and stand behind what you do.

Then there's the whole image thing but that is a whole other story.

Or just be yourself and don't act like a complete tryhard in an attempt to force respect from other people. I don't give a ----- I wear whatever I want to my local. I'm not gonna change what I do to get other people to like me. Honestly, if it's that bad that I need to change my wardrobe to get respect from people, they don't deserve the effort. If they like me, cool. If not, lol I don't care, they're just random ass kids from the skate park that I don't even know.

I would way prefer to be known for being a good front and a positive ambassador for the sport than just riding. Although to be known for riding would be cool to.
