Problem with bringing scooters on planes.

Hello , i'm going back to Singapore to visit my friends and all. I live in Shanghai now. I'm taking a plane to Singapore. I am bringing my scooter but then i'm not sure if I should hand carry it ( bring it up the plane ) or put it in my luggage.

The reason why i'm not sure is because like for security , when they see a huge chuck on metal in my luggage all cluttered together , they might get suspicious of whatever and ask me to open my luggage. If they open my luggage , i'm in good shit because I will have to pack everything back in again at the air port. My mother says that if they open my luggage , they will check like everything and that will be 1212 hours.

If I hand carry it , I will put my scooter in a bag which are for scooters. The thing is that my bars are 1 piece bars and they won't fit into the bag. Some of it fit but the part with the grips will stick out like some antenna or some scary shit.

When you hand carry items , theres a point where you get checked , your bags get X rayed and all. I think it might be easier to open a scooter bag than my luggage but i'm not sure.

The Razor people and other people who have been to other countries with their scooters might know. so... help!

yea...I would recommend not carrying it on your scooter will definitely not break if you pack everything flat down and not sitting at a weird angle. Thats what I have done and it works fine. Just pack your clothes around your scooter for padding also.

i went to kansas city and california over the summer and i flew with 2 scooters, but im pretty sure you have to check the bag in. haha everytime i got my bag after the flight they put a card in it saying that they checked it.

dude im riding a plane to san jose tommorow and this is what i always do.. i fold my scoot and hand carry my scooter in then i have my backpack with my tools... when im at security checkpoint i just put my scoot through the x ray thing then my backpack... they always do a search on my backpack and they start looking through all pockets i just stop them and tell them which pocket the whrenches are in then they grab them measure the tools then they give it back and you go to your gate it takes like 5 minutes just bring it as a carry on item works for me everytime. then i put it in the space thing above the seats then get off works fine everytime

I am not afraid of my scooter breaking. It will hold up but I will do what Dylan said just incase.

You guys saying that I can put it in my luggage?

Use the words: luggage , scooter bag , scooter , bag. If you don't mind. It will be easier to understand.

EDIT : After I posted this , I saw what Babboon Jonny said. Do you think I can just put my tools in my luggage ( big thing which goes somewhere in the plane where I cannot take it after checking in and then , hand carry my scooter alone with like erm.... nothing inside which could hurt someone.

I got alot of weird tools inside this pencil case thing. Like bearings , allen keys , wrenches and all. Maybe its better to put it in the luggage.

He means take a big suitcase that you check in, and then carry on something else if you need too. And just put your scooter in the thing you check in.

Put it in luggage but get it checked and wrapped as FRAGILE ie. put "FRAGILE" stickers all over it when it's been wrapped with bubble wrap

When i flew to NZ over xmas, i just took my scooter apart, wrapped in up in glad wrap and wrote my name and shit on it.
When we came to the airport at check in, i just told the lady i have my scooter and she goes " Ok, that will go in heavy items "
So when i arrived my scooter was on the heavy items trolley waiting for me to pick it up.
Oh and i wouldnt take hand tools on board.
With all the terrorist shit going on, they would most like take them off you.

i went to florida and brought my scooter.. did you go on a private jet or a regular plane.. if you go on a private they dont even check

umm id say just luggage, people pack guns and shit in their luggage. it goes in storage in the plane so its not like theyre worried about something in there. they usually just x-ray and see if something looks like a bomb, and scooters and bombs look nothing alike.

btw terry had a bad experience, they 'lost' his bag because it was heavy because of scooter parts when he came to my house, but we found it next to the baggage service desk thing about to get moved to go on another plane when we went back to the airport like 5 hours later to get KC. Chris Bartnicki's bag got sent on like a different flight when he came up to my house to goto XW because of the weight and we had to go get that like 4 hours later when it showed up... KC didn't have any problems though so theres like a 50/50 chance you'll have a problem

Uhhh OGC Jimmy , I don't want my luggage to get checked.

I think hand carry is the way I will do it. Trust Babboon Jonny more. I don't want to lose my scooter or get into trouble which I can skip.

well mother fucker i am here i took the plane and it took 5 minutes to get through security i got on the plane then got off took my bolts off unfolded my scoot then tightened the boltes and went and rode park no problem i would just take my advise its faster than ANYTHING you should lock this thread its a dee dee dee thread
