Alright, I was on the berrics and they have a section about the team filmers who travel with the team and it talks about there experince. http://theberrics.com/shoot-all-skaters
Is there team filmers for scooter teams like lucky, proto, blunt, mgp, and etc. I know there is one for boxes but i feel like more companies should deffiantly consider hiring filmers that travel with them who have a ton of experience with filming instead of friends filming friends or a tripod... Anyone else feel like this would make scootering look more professional?

Its better just to have riders and friends filming each other, than hiring a filmer.

No no no no no and no.

This is one of the main reason scooter videos are so bad. WE NEED FILMERS. that is something we are lacking 100% in our sport.

ehh. you can't just have the guys on the team filming each other if they don't really know anything about filming.

there are a few people in the sport who know how to film, but most companies aren't going to bother actually hiring them to film and make videos for them. they just don't place enough value on well filmed videos.

most teams do have a somewhat designated member who is the "filmer" but they don't get much credit.

Matt Reeves is pretty damn good, he does all of Jon Knudston and Georgie Louis' videos.

I spent alot of time filming and every time I get into the filmer mentality I NEVER get tricks for myself and just film everybody else and it really sucks.

I used to film for all my skater friends back when we were little punks. I was the only person who could follow lines and keep the camera steady. Filming isn't hard, its just finding someone who wants to get the right angles and viewpoints for each line/trick and knows what looks good and what doesn't. The problem with scooter kids filming is that the majority of them just carry the camera, point, and shoot. Honestly, all that people need is to fool around with a camera for a bit, see the shots they took on a computer, learn the width and height of their lens's capture and basically work off of that. If someone knows what they are getting without looking at the viewfinder every 10 seconds the overall product will be so much nicer.

Edit: Tyler, I had the exact same problem.

I am lucky to ride with a group of people that wants to get good shots, even though we still all suck as a whole....lol

Edit: Another thing is editing, I hate to see some really good clips thrown together within 30 seconds with no transitions. -____-

me and my friends are pretty bad at filming if we had a legit filmer and editor we could drop some good ass edits

if companies are going to make serious videos. they need serious filmers. im not gonna say im a super amazing filmer but i do know what im doing and im always down to film if people are trying to get something. having a filmer just makes things so much easier instead of people fighting over who wants to film or blah blah. people who are filming and are bitching about it when im trying a trick makes it pretty much impossible for me to get it. we need more serious filmers. thats all im going to say

I am so lucky to have Matt Reeves always willing to film and edit for me. He knows what he's doing. Without him I am just a 22 year old man riding a children's toy by myself.

I find i am the filmer of my crew and I wish i could get more film of myself, but all my friends are bad at filming and can never be bothered, or by the time the get to film me we get kicked from the spot or everyone else wants to leave :( But I say I'm an alright filmer and know quite a bit about it and would love to film for a company one day.
